Site Moved and Upgraded
Late last year we decided to move the services on the CMS Web Servers to a new VPS (so that we could migrate cleanly to ubuntu server from an outdated Debian install). The idea was to setup a new VPS, migrate the sites and services one by one to the new server, and then within the month shut off the old VPS. This meant that calguy1000.com had to be moved too.
It took me a couple of days (mostly because I wasn't feeling well, and didn't feel like fighting with the site on a temporary name before the DNS changes had migrated), but I have moved the site to its new home and have upgraded it from CMSMS 1.6.5 to CMSMS 1.9.2.
Total time invested in the migration: 30 minutes.
For an experienced person, on a reasonable host, and with good tools CMSMS really is simple to use, to administer, and to migrate.
