Using the CGFeeddmaker module allows generating RSS feeds for your blog and news articles.   With twitterfeed.com you can automatically tie that directly into twitter so that the people that are interested in your site are automatically notified of new events.

Now all your news posts will automatically be cross linked on your twitter account (more links == better search engine ranking)... and the people that want to be in the know about your site, will be in the know.

All you need to do is to setup cgfeedmaker for your various feeds, make sure that those feeds validate.  Then register at twitterfeed.com and tell twitterfeed about your feeds.
