Massive Module Release Spree

Okay, I've just released upon the CMSMS community a barrage of new modules. There is a mix of bugfixes, new features, and even a few brand spanking new modules.... There is something for everybody, so keep reading.
Category: Modules

I haven't released much in the last month (well Except for CMS Made Simple 1.5.3)... and I've been busier than a one armed paper hanger with contracts that I've been working on.

This hard work has resulted in a large list of modules that have been tweaked or fixed, and a few brand spanking new ones that will fill some of the remaining gaps in functionality that is available for CMS Made Simple.

JQueryTools 1.0.2

This is a joint venture between Nuno Costa and myself.  It provides no interface of it's own, but instead provieds JQuery 1.2.5 and a set of plugins, and makes it easy to implement jquery into admin modules, or into your frontend templates (ajax is so easy with jquery).

I'm already using this module in some of my new code.... particularly in CGFeedback, CGUserDirectory, Products, and a few others.   Though you won't know it unless you have this module installed.

AkismetCheck 0.2.0

Although I am not the author of this module (it actually belongs to Morten Poulsen), I with his permission modified this module to add some extended functionality, so that I could add spam checking capabilities into the CGFeedback module (see below).   This is actually the first file release for this module.

Captcha 0.4.0

Again, I'm not the author of this module (Dick Ittman is the author), I modified this module as well to support the CGFeedbakc module's new way of doing things.

CGExtensions 1.15.1

This module is one of mine (I have lots of modules that I have authored).  This module provides a set of tools, utilities, and forms that I use as a foundation for all of my modules.

This release is just a bugfix release fixing the ability to organize the countries in the country dropdown list control that this module provides.  Orders is the only module that uses this functionality at the moment.

CGSimpleSmarty 1.4.1

This version of CGSimpleSmarty fixes some minor errors in some of the smarty tags that the module provides.

CGGoogleMaps 1.2

This module is a replacement for Dick Ittman's GoogleMap module.  It provides much more functionality, and is easier to use.   This version adds support for different marker icons for each map point, and adds the ability to change the default map icon.

I use this new functionality to provide a google map with different icons for different companies as listed in the company directory module..... Stay tuned to my blog for an upcoming tutorial on how to do this.

CompanyDirectory 1.1.7

This is a minor update to this module.  I've added another custom field type: "Dropdown".  This allows you to build dropdown lists, and allow a single value from that dropdown to be associated with a product.

I use this feature, along with the new CGGoogleMaps module to customize Google Map Icons for each company listing.

Comments 1.9.2

This was a sponsored project, which allows a greater flexibility in the ways that the comments module can be used.  In combination with the new sessioning, and inline parameters, it is now possible to use the comments module in a sidebar, or a non default conent area.  As well, I've improved error handling and templating abilities.

As part of this, I also removed some functionality that was contributed by others, but that didn't work well, fit well, or was easy to use (sorry AndMinistrator) but the trackback stuff should probably be in its own module.

GiftBaskets 1.1

You probably aren't aware of this module, but it is part of the e-commerce suite of modules, it allows your website visitor to crreate multiple different baskets, with different contents and shipping addresses.  This allows your customer to prepare gifts for multiple people, pay once, and allow your customer to handle all of the shipping.

This module has had some minor bug fixes, and templating changes.

FrontEndUsers 1.6.3

Most of you are familiar with this module, or should be.  It provides the login, forgot password, change settings functionality for your site visitors.   In this version I've done a bunch of bug fixes, including (hopefully) fixing the 'remember me' functionality once and for all (as long as your web server is configured appropriately).

SelfRegistration 1.2.3

As you also probably know, this module works in conjunction with the FrontEndUsers module to allow your website visitors to register themselves with your site.   This version fixes bugs relating to the setting that allows the username to be the users email address.

CGUserDirectory 1.0

This is a brand spanking new module, that should handle many of the requests that have been on the forum for as long as I can remember.   It works in conjunction with the FrontEndUsers module and allows you to create profile pages and a searchable directory for your users.   It is completely template controlled with a few different types of views (including an alphabetic directory view, summary and detail views).   Your users should be able to edit their own profiles merely by changing their settings.  Enjoy.

CGCalendar 1.0

This is not a brand new module, but it is a new implementation of an existing module.   Previously I did some work on the Calendar module, and released Calendar 1.0.  However since it was not compatible with previous versions of that module, and there were quite a few complaints and user problems, I removed that version.

This is that code re-labeled, and renamed to be completely seperate from the Calendar series.  As well, I've even added a few more fixes, features, and cleanups.   This version is now completely incompatible with any previous versions.

This version supports saving previous and next month, and template settings, etc in session variables, supports multiple different templates for each view, and supports having numerous independant calendar views on a single page.

This package is in production use on a couple of sites, however I haven't had the ability to thoroughly test all of the list views, and session capabilities.   So I am hoping that the user community, as always find and report the bugs faster than I can.

Uploads 1.4.1

This module (one of my earliest) allows users to upload files to your site, and also allows you to share files with other users.   It supports thumbnaling, titles, and keywords for each file, is completely template controllable and extremely flexible.

This version merely fixes a few simple, but far reaching bugs.

Products 2.2.4

This key part of the E-commerce suite allows organizing and managing the products in your site, but you probably know that already if you're doing any e-commerce work with CMS Made Simple.

This is a minor bugfix, and enhancement version (I tweaked a few templates in the admin side, and fixed some minro issues).

Orders 1.2.4

This module manages the ordering mechanism for the E-commerce suite.  This version fixes a few very minor bugs.

CGFeedback 1.0

This is a brand spanking new module to take the place of the Comments module and the Rate-this modules.   It allows your users to comment on various items (News articles, products, companies) and to provide a rating between one and 5.  It should have all of the functionlity of both of these modules combined.

Here's a list of the other key features:

I am also confident, that in conjunction with the CGFeedmaker module, you'll be able to create rss feeds of comments.   This module will really make your e-commerce or blog site powerful.   I'll be using it on this site very soon.

Whew!!!

That's quite a list of features, and funcationlity.  And as normal, you can download all of these modules via the normal mechanisms.   Please be sure to read the help, and about information pertaining to functionality and dependences before installing.
